CARS MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, September 10, 2026

Meeting opened at 7:01 PM w/Pledge by President Paul Krahmer
Introductions of club officers, members, and visitors were made.

Committee Reports

• Secretary Report:  Minutes are posted on the club website. Accepted without correction.
• VE Team: No session since last meeting.
• EMCOM/Public Service: A new record has been set due to no hurricanes arriving this late in the season. There is a new ARES training web site, FLEX, https://fdemtraining.geniussis.com. NWS chat is now available on SLACK, https://www.weather.gov/media/okx/slack_2.pdf.
• Repeater Committee: Bruce, N4BCK, exhibited the repeater and duplexer that were previously at Morton Plant Hospital. They could be used to replace the current Tarpon Springs repeater. He made a proposal to replace the current Tarpon Springs repeater with this equipment and a new controller. Bruce made a motion to allocate up to $650 to purchase a new controller and cables. Alex N7BSA, seconded the motion and it was passed without exception by the membership present.
• IT Committee Report: The club mailing list is now up-to-date and Google workspace is now active. Google workspace will be used by the board to share information with the members.
• Net Report: No longer a formal net. Weekly rag chew for now.
• Treasurer Report:  Treasurer report was provided and approved, current balance $7,743.33. Current membership is 52. An audit needs to be scheduled.

Old Business

• None.

New Business:

• The nominating committee for upcoming club elections will be Mike, K4HN, Bruce, N4BCK, and Bruce, K2BHS.
• The secretary will be sending a card to Bob Giglio, NB2G, who is ill.
• Ron, N2SKH, gave a presentation on the Route 66 On The Air special event.
• 50-50 winner was Gerry, WR6N.
